The present work concerns a study of the genetic and haplotypic diversity of some populations of the two species of limpets Patella ferruginea (Gmelin, 1791) and Patella rustica (Linnaeus, 1758) carried out at the level of the Algerian, Mediterranean and Atlantic coast (P. rustica).
In order to find models of genetic structures of P. ferruginea and P. rustica populations which can highlight hot-spot zones, a phylogeographic study was carried out based on 177 sequences of the portion of the mitochondrial gene Cytochrome Oxidase I "COI" of P. ferruginea and 134 sequences of the same gene for P.rustica derived from previous studies.
In this regard, a regression between the nucleotide/haplotypic diversity and the geographical coordinates of the different populations of limpets studied at the microgeographical scale (Algerian coast) and at the macrogeographical scale (Mediterranean/Atlantic) was carried out by considering the“ longitude effect” and the “latitude effect” for the two species studied. In order to have an idea on the genetic barriers and to determine the hot-spot zones, phylogeographic analyze were carried out using several bioinformatics programs (BioEdit, DnaSp and Arlequin).
The results showed the presence of some probable hot-spot zones at the microgeographic scale such as the Bérard station (BE) and Figuier plage (FP) which could limit the diversity of P. ferruginea and P.rustica in the center of the Algerian coast according to a molecular analysis of variance (AMOVA). A hot-spot zone was also detected at the macro-geographical scale around the stations of the Alboran Sea for P.ferruginea As station of Chafarinas (CHA) and concerning P.rustica a hot-spot zone around some stations in the Canary Islands ) CIS) and Madeira (MD) has been found.
Finally, environmental differences caused by frontal ocean currents can affect the survival and reproduction of limpet larvae, which can lead to genetic divergence between populations located on either side of the frontal current. Consequently, frontal ocean currents may play an important role in forming invisible genetic barriers between limpet populations.

The Macta marshes Ramsar site (study area), located in north-west Algeria in latitude (35°41'N) and longitude (0°10'W), remains one of the most interesting areas to study. The site is considered to be a wetland of international importance, and was included in the Ramsar Convention in 2001. It occupies a strategic position in the country. It covers an area of 45,000 ha.
The methodological approach used is based on the application of investigative tools (GIS and remote sensing). Using ArcGis 10.8 software, we applied georeferencing methods to cartographic documents (general maps, soils, geology and vegetation), processing of 21 Sentinel-2 images (classification + calculation of spectral indices) and one (01) radar image (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM)) of 30 m resolution, Bing Microsoft and Google Earth images. In the field, we used a Garmin GPS to locate the samples and validate the remote sensing results.
Using GIS and remote sensing methods, we were able to produce a series of digital topographic and thematic maps for the study area that are accurate, up-to-date and valid to the extent of 96% of ground reality.
Analysis of the maps shows that the study area lies on a flat topography and covers five (5) land-use areas (artificial, agricultural, forest, wetland and aquatic). Wetlands cover 919 ha, or 25% of the total surface area. Monitoring of the hydrological cycle shows that the extent of water observed in the field between 13/03/2023 and 30/08/2023 (6 months) has undergone a regression in flood levels and surfaces. The area of open water fell from 181 ha on 13/03/2023 to 71 ha on 30/08/2023, corresponding to a loss of 110 ha in 6 months, or around 18.5 ha/month. This shows that the surface area and duration of flooding have been reduced as a result of climate change and anthropogenic pressure.

Our work focuses on the launch of a start-up dedicated to the valorization of sea cucumber, with emphasis on its nutritional and culinary quality. Our innovative idea is to prepare dishes: sausages from the dry product of sea cucumber.
The study is structured in three main parts: The first part concerns an evaluation of the approximate composition of the body wall of Holothuria tubulosa species from the beach of Petit Port-Sidi Lakhdar, Mostaganem in order to estimate its nutritional value. The second part addresses the transformation of certain sea cucumber specimens into bêche de mer, which were incorporated in the preparation of the four sea cucumber dishes served during the tasting workshop held on May 18, 2023. The third part is the realization of a questionnaire on the knowledge of sea cucumber and its integration into the eating habits and purchases of Algerian society.
According to our results, the studied sea cucumber species studied have a high humidity rate estimated at 81.09%, and an ash content of 45.83. The in vitro digestibility by pepsin of the integument of Holothuria tubulosa beche de mer is 51.46%. The lipid level obtained is 2.1% and the total sugar percentage reaches 0.19%. According to the results of the questionnaire, more than half of the participants are familiar with sea cucumbers and 76% are inclined to integrate them into their eating habits. A significant 92% of respondents expressed appreciation for the idea of sea cucumber sausages and chose it as their favorite dish out of the four served. The vast majority of participants, 96%, affirmed their interest in the nutritional properties and potential benefits of sea cucumber.
