dc.description.abstract |
The aim of the present study was the determination of genital diseases prevalence Rembi sheep breed, the third important breed in Algeria, and highlight their relationship whit infertility.
We performed macroscopic examination of the lesions of 70 testis and of epididymis and of femal genital tract of 130 Rembi ewes.
The results of present study show that ews 10% of pregnancy were reported.
The prevalence of genital tract pathologies identified in our study were relatively higher in ewe compared to ram. The congenital anomalies were more predominant in rams while the acquired pathologies were more abundant
Among-70 rams, the rate of acquires genital pathologies was 12, 82%.
Testicular hypoplasia was the most frequently detected lesion (5, 71%), followed by cryptorchidism (2, 85%). Orchitis and epididymitis were detected with 1, 42% and 1, 42%, respectively.
In ewes, the most common congenital lesion was cervical curvature (14.61%), and the most common acquired inflammatory lesions were (metritis-endometritis) were present at a rate of (5.38%), and followed by the other lesions observed: ovarian cyst (4.61%), ovarite, and followed by pyometra (1.53%), para-ovarian cyst (0.76%), adherence (0.76%) and ovarian abscess (0.76%). |
