The development of the use of composite materials in structures requires putting in place tools
for modeling their mechanical behavior.
The study that we conducted consists to determine the effect of the fiber orientation of the
folds and the effect of geometric relationships columns on the evolution of the buckling
parameter. The analysis is performed in the presence of a compression stress per unit length
with an imposed displacement. We are focusing on the finite element method to find the
relationship among stress and behavior of structures made of composite materials (Hat section
and Lipped channel section).Modeling and simulation were performed using the computer
code ABAQUS 6.11.
The conducted parameterized study provides some results. The most important of these allows
for several conclusions as for example that the fiber orientation of symmetric or
antisymmetric columns has no effect on the buckling parameter λ, whatever the type and
length of the column (Lipped Channel Section or Hat Section). In addition, the buckling
parameter λ increases with the angle θ. Once obtained a maximum value with 45°, the
geometric parameters α, β and γ still not change whatever the type of the section and the
length of the column ( Lipped Channel Section or Hat Section). |
