The aim of this study was to determine the disruption of inflammatory proteins in 19 children of which 13 presented with minor and 6 moderate malnutrition and to determine the prevalence of severe acute malnutrition, describe the clinical aspects of severe acute malnutrition.
This study was carried out in Mostaganem in children aged 0 to 10 years. The nutritional state or the state of malnutrition was assessed by the Weight/Height ratio, which is by far the most widely used. an exhaustive survey was made on 19 children hospitalized at the Che Guevara hospital where the selection of malnourished children was made with the help of the doctor from the pediatric department.
The results of this study showed that albumin in her individuals was low (p <35). This study has shown that moderate and minor malnutrition in children is always accompanied by an inflammatory process and protein consumption, especially albumin. Finally, these observations suggest that the determination of nutritional status with anthropometric parameters (Weight / Height), requires the use of biological examinations. |
