dc.description.abstract The work of this bibliographic study was focused on the chemical composition and biological activity of four important species Zingiber Officinale, Curcuma LongaL, Lavandula Angustifolia Miller and Matricia Chamomillia belonging to the family Lamiaceae. Several species of this family are used in traditional medicine. and modern, such as Lavandula, Curcuma, Zingiber and Chamomile. Including the chemical composition of zingiber, rich in essential oils and monoterpenes including gingerol and shogaols, which gives this plant multiple biological activities: antioxidant, antibacterial, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antiemetic, antidiabetic. For the chemical composition of Turmeric, rich in esquiterpene, zingiberene and turcumin. Which give multiple biological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti viral, anti fungal, anti HIV, Antidiabetic, Anticorrosion. So, the chemical composition of lavender, rich in terpenes including linalool and linalyl acetate, gives this plant multiple pharmacological activities: sedative, anxiolytic, immunomodulatory, anti-infectious, anticancer, anti-androgenic, cholagogue, antispasmodic, antiplatelet agent, protective against cardiovascular diseases. On the other hand, Chamomile, rich in sesquiterpene lactones, flavonoids including Chamazulene gives this plant several activities such as anti-inflammatory, Spasmolytic, Antibacterial, antifungal, Sedative. en_US
