In agriculture, grafting is a vegetative mode of reproduction that involves implanting into the
tissues of a plant (called a rootstock), a bud or fragment of some kind (called a graft), taken
from another plant or from the same plant, so that it continues to grow by making body with
the first. For the success of this experiment, the grafting operation is carried out in mazagrane
(mostaganem) farm using the Japanese method, in this trial, treats the grafting of the
watermelon on the squash with two varieties of watermelon «Grey-bell: El Ghali» F1 and
CRIMSON SWEET grafted on the squash variety F1 «root power», Our experiment aims to
compare the two varieties of watermelons grafted on squash, The main aim of this cultivation
technique is to increase yields and thus increase value.. As it was specified in the
experimental part, it is the variety El Ghali which stands out first by an early of a dozen days,
by the number of fruits per plant which East of 6 -7 fruits instead of 4 fruits for the variety
Crimson Sweet . The average weight of El Ghali with 7-9 kg is much higher than the yield
determinant, whereas it is only 5-6 kg for Crimson Sweet. |
