Urinary tract infections represent a particularly important health problem and occupy a major
place in infectious pathology. The cytobacteriological examination of urine allowed us to
identify the germs responsible for urinary tract infections and to determine their profile of
sensitivity to antibiotics. This study was carried out at the level of the medical analysis
laboratory ECH CHIFAA - Chlef. In the bacteriology department during the month of May
2022. Our study focused on 97 positive samples, which went through several stages of
identification for the search for the infectious agent: macroscopic and microscopic examination,
culture, the different colorations, the biochemical tests. Thus, each bacterium incriminated had
benefited from an antibiotic sensitivity study. By taking into consideration several parameters
including: sex, age, bacteriological profile and resistance to antibiotics. The majority of these
infections are due to Enterobacteriaceae with a percentage of 85%, of which Escherichia coli is
the most commonly observed bacterium. The relationship between sex and these infections
shows a predominance of the female sex with 62%. The study of the resistance of these germs
to antibiotics shows a strong resistance of Enterobacteriaceae to Ampicillin and Amoxicillin.
Pseudomonas showed strong resistance to Ampicillin, Amoxicillin, Nutrofurantoin, and
Cephalotin. Furthermore, we note a high sensitivity of the germs studied to Tobramicin and
Amikacin. |
