Colorectal cancer (CCR) ranks second in terms of incidence and mortality in Algeria. The objective of this work is to determine the dietary profile of CCR in the Wilaya of Mostaganem using a nutritional survey and questionnaires to seek food and environmental risk factors. The study was conducted with 30 people with cancer of the colon or rectum spread over different geographical areas of the Wilaya. The show that most patients are over 40 and 75 years of age and more than half have no colorectal cancer, their diet is low in fruits, vegetables and dietary fiber, but rich in food Containers of sugar and fat often used in frying with heavy consumption of white meats and cold meats, industrial drinks and most of them drink tap water. It was also noted in this study that a significant number of patients are overweight, with a lack of physical activity and a significant exposure to psychological stress and tobacco. In conclusion, this study suggests that CCR is associated with nutritional factors and psychological stress. age and weight are also identified as risk factors for CCR, hence the value of metabolic treatment as a substitute for destructive chemical treatment |
