dc.description.abstract |
Medicinal plants are an inexhaustible and diversified source of secondary metabolites, which have several applications: pharmaceutical, medical, agri-food, agronomic and biotechnological. With this in mind, we looked at two medicinal plants (Olea europaea, Pistacia lentiscus). In the Hadjadj region (Mostaganem. Algeria), foliar ethanolic extracts are used to test antibacterial activity. By the method of diffusion in solid medium, against two strains Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus), and Gram negative (Pseudomonas aeroginosa). These compounds have been shown to be very active against all the bacteria tested. However A strong activity of the extract of the leaves Pistacia lentiscus vis-à-vis S.aureus (inhibition diameter 43:00 mm) is recorded. The antibacterial activity of this extract is confirmed by the microdilution method (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration: MIC). For the leaf extract of Olea europaea (olive) are endowed with a moderate antibacterial effect. The largest inhibition zone (38:00 mm) is recorded by the strain (Pseudomonas aeroginosa) with a MIC (1/2). This leads us to say that the foliar extracts of Olea europaea and Pistacia lentiscus are endowed with biological activity: antibacterial. The results obtained are very encouraging and open a promising way to use leaves of Olea europaea and Pistacia lentiscus many applications in various fields. Namely in medicine, pharmacology, etc.). |
