Raising the modern broiler breeder is an exciting challenge, Indeed, these
birds are characterized by a high reproductive potential (145 to 150 chicks per
hen is a realistic objective), while retaining the growth potential of a modern
broiler.
In order to allow broiler breeders to reach their maximum reproductive
potential, it is essential to guarantee them adequate nutrition, especially before
and after peak egg-laying.
During these two crucial periods, the farmer must take into account the
condition of the batch in terms of egg production, weight gain, and fat and
feather reserves, to ensure that the birds are neither underfed nor overfed.
In short, the feeding of modern broiler breeder requires a global strategy
allowing adequate implementation of nutritional parameters and feeding
programs. |
