This study aims to evaluate the zootechnical performance in breeding broiler breeders, ARBOR
ACRES strain, from the production phase (from the 23rd week to the 32nd week). The herd
concerned by this trial is subject to different therapeutic protocols:
- Building n°1: the herd received a product based on essential oil (Origostim).
- Building n°2: the livestock received a probiotic-based product (Propoul)
- Building n°3: the livestock received an antibiotic-based product (Enrobroxine).
- Building no. 4: received no treatment (only water ad libitum).
At the end of this work, it was found that the average mortality rate is high; it is respectively 5.17%
for building 1; 6.19% for building 2; 4.67% for building 3 and 5.81% for building 4 in the male. In
the female, the average mortality rate is 2.16% for building 1; 1.64% for building 2; 1.00% for
building 3 and 1.63% for building 4. The analysis of the laying rate shows rates below the standard
of the strain, except for the herd of building n°01, which recorded the best performances of
spawning compared to other buildings with a remarkable increase in hatching egg size and weight
over the strain standard. A laying peak of 86.56% for building 1; 84.40% for building 2; 79.15% for
building 3 and 80.15% for building 4 compared to the strain standard, which is 87.53% at 30 weeks
of age. A decrease in multi-antibiotic resistant bacteria was observed in bacteria isolated from the
ATB batches compared to the HE and PRO batches. |
