dc.description.abstract |
The purpose of this study is to find the nature of the relationship between «
Echorouk Online » and (the users) interacting with it through its website
during the Algerian Presidency 2014.
It also seeks to reveal the role of users in enriching the media content of the
newspaper by asking the following question:
How did users interact with Echorouk Online during the Algerian
presidential elections of 2014?
In order to achieve the objectives, and answer its questions, we based on the
survey method, and the content analysis as tool, to analyze the political conflict
in the structure of the media content of the newspaper and the comments that
interact with it,
We designed the content analysis form for a sample of 33 press releases, and
10130 comments.
We mainly based on the model of the agenda setting as a theoretical
background, to reveal the centers of interest in the contents of the newspaper and
the comments to clarify the nature of the correlation between these two variables
using the appropriate statistical methods.
Finally, the researcher concluded with a number of results, most notably:
- The study proved the basic principal of agenda setting theory, which assumed a
strong relationship between the way that media expose topics and the
importance of these issues to the public, although the interactive feature in the
digital space of the newspaper.
- The mechanisms employed by the communicator on the website of the
newspaper maintain the traditional role of the media in influencing the
knowledge building of the public.
- The non-reliance of the newspaper on the comments of the users in the
development of its own agenda and its content in the whole structure of the
content due to factors related to the nature of the comment.
- Echorouk Online knew moral and legal problems due to its reliance on nonprofessional
sources of information prevents it from user setting in its content
during the presidential elections 2014. |
