dc.description.abstract From 1601, the UK suffered from the growth of population, which resulted in several social problems, and since that time the state didn’t stop its attempts to solve these problems, under what they called the Welfare State, the concept means; the state responsibility of its citizens in all aspects of life, and it can also define as the creation of “the social safety net” of minimum standards of varying forms of welfare. In this dissertation, it's discussed the origins of the British welfare state, from the early 16th till the second half of the 19th century. the role of William Beveridge is discused in providing a successful British welfare state, and by his impact on the state’s politic. en_US
