Résumé:
Ruta montana is an aromatic medicinal plant still used in traditional medicine in many
countries as laxative, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antispasmodic, abortive, antiepileptic,
emmenagogue and for the treatment of cutaneous pathologies. Phytochemical screening
revealed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, glycosides, sterols, coumarins and proteins and
the absence of anthocyanins and quinones. The results show the richness of the aerial part of
the plant in polyphenols (250 mg EAG / g MS) and flavonoids (52 mg EC / g MS) and a very
small amount in tannins (0.8 mg EQ / g of MS).
Antioxidant capacity was determined from IC50. Its extract concentration needed to reduce
50% of the DPPH radical. The IC50 and the antioxidant activity of the extract tested are
inversely proportional. According to the results recorded, the aqueous and methanolic extracts
have a moderate antioxidant capacity; their IC50 respectively is 0.945 and 0.961 mg / ml
compared to the standard used in our study that of ascorbic acid whose value is of the order
0.16 mg / ml.
