Due to its economic and nutritional importance, chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is considered as a strategic plant which will have to be developed especially in Algeria.
However, several factors may be problematic in its spread, as are the fungal diseases that affect this crop, among which, anthracnose caused by Ascochyta rabiei, which causes considerable yield losses.
The present study evaluates the efficacy antagonist of Trichoderma Harzianum and two endophytic fungal isolates on the mycelial growth of Ascochyta rabiei.
18 isolates of A. rabiei collected in different regions of northwestern Algeria, are confronted in vitro with the antagonist. A highly significant inhibitory effect is observed on the mycelial growth for the two tests carried out (direct confrontation with the phytopathogen and at a distance with the volatile substances emitted by the antagonist) |
