The by-products of the sea represent valuable biological resources that can generate different molecules of nutritional and biological interest. The ways of recovering fish co-products mainly consist of transforming them into flour, oil and silage production.
This study is focused on the extraction of lipid from co-products of bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus), fished in the region of Mostaganem, by two different methods: chemical and enzymatic. To this end, we studied the efficiency of two to three different extractions for each method. From the results obtained, it was noticed which the best method to extract total lipids from marine co-products is to use solvent mixtures (chloroform / methanol; Isopropanol / Hexane), since these methods provide good estimation of lipid content. Also, it was noticed that whatever the method used, the co-products have the highest rate of lipid and ash compared to the fish flesh analyzed. |
