Résumé:
In the study of the biodiversity of sheep genetic resources, our study is based on a phenotypic approach of the Algerian sheep breed in the tiaret région exactely ksar chelalla . The zootechnical approach deals firstly with the phenotypic aspect for the characterization of breeds by the use of body measurements (on 27 Rembi sheeps).
The body mesurements studied were: LT.LO.LC.TP.LP.LB.LQ.TC.HD.HG.HS. Lcorps. Ttes. Ltes. weight and age. The factorial discriminante analysis revealing that the descriptors wich allow differentiating better the masculine flocks are: the length of head, circumference of chest, the tail length, and at the feminine flocks, the descriptors of the best differentiation are :height at the withers, height at the sacrum and height at the back. The results obtained revealed that the sheep population of the Tiaret region is getting closer of the Ouled Djellal breed.
