Citrus fruits are of considerable economic importance for many countries, it is even for Algeria. Grafting is an operation which aims to combine the advantageous characteristics of two different plants in a single plant, the grafted plant is made up of two parts: the root system "rootstock" and the aerial part "graft". For several dozen. Years, the criteria for choosing a citrus plant have evolved, leading to an expansion of the range of varieties and species available to serve as rootstocks. This tendency to increase the number of potentially usable rootstocks was confirmed when it came to responding to the parasitic threat exerted by various diseases such as tristeza and gum disease.
Our test is carried out in the El Nakhla nursery in ain defla, in order to study the compatibility and affinity by monitoring the graft recovery rate of four graft varieties (Orange Washington Navel, Orange Navelina, Clementine Orograndé and Clementine Nules) grafted in crest of
spring on two varieties of rootstocks (Citrange Carrizo, Citrus Volkameraina) in a semi-automatic multi-chapel greenhouse. The comparison between the different associations (rootstock/ variety) which allows data to the following results:
The semi-automatic multi-chapel greenhouse ensures a favorable microclimate for the plants (temperature and humidity) for successful grafting and shoot development.
The best combination of graft X graft is the Citrange carrizo rootstock with the Navelina variety. These results obtained make it possible to determine a good choice of plant material for citrus nurserymen. |
