Résumé:
The objective assigned to this project is the development of a method for determination of the influence of raw sand
physico-chemical characteristics on the production yield of the liquid sodium silicate.
Three kinds of raw sand (SIG, GOR, ARICHA), which differ each other by chemical composition, have been studied
for different particules sizes.
The influence of temperature and reaction time, system used, and molar ratios of different reagents have been
determined. The study done show that the raw sand ‘ARICHA’ of particules size (63 – 45) microns gave the best
results. The temperature is 200°C and the reaction time is 40 minutes. The reaction conversion is 94%. The kind ‘SIG’
of particules size (75 – 63) microns is the best choice to obtain a liquid sodium silicate of properties that reply the
glass industries conditions.
