Résumé:
The present research is concerned with shyness in EFL classroom and teaching strategies to integrate shy students in classroom interaction. This research aims to investigate if the teachers meet timid students in their classrooms and the effectiveness of strategies that teachers use in order to make shy students involved in classroom
discussions. The researcher adopted a quantitative method in order to conduct the research and gather the needed data. A questionnaire was administered to EFL teachers of Abdelhamid Ibn Badis University in Mostaganem. Hinging on their experience and reliable data, the findings of the research illustrate that most of the teachers meet shy
students in their classrooms and shyness really affects students’ learning. Besides, the results reveal that the suggested strategies by the researcher are significant for the teachers which help shy students to be integrated in classroom interaction and to be active learners.
