Abstract
This study aims at knowing about the phenomenon of absenteeism from
work and its impact on the performance of the worker inside the institution. This study focused on the main question that is:
- Does the employee’s absence from work affect his performance inside
the institution?
Also, the following sub-questions are included:
- Does the worker’s withdrawal from his work decrease the spirit of the
group work?
- Does the institution’s failure to practice authority and responsibility in
a correct manner lead to absenteeism from work?
- Is “absence” considered as the main factor in creating a careless and
irresponsible personality inside the institution?
In order to answer the previous mentioned questions, we relied on the
descriptive approach which is appropriate to the nature of this subject,
using a set of tools to collect data starting from observation and doing
interviews. These tools were applied to a sample of teachers in an educational institution, where the interview was applied on 10 teachers who
were randomly selected.
The results of the field study revealed that:
- The worker’s withdrawal from his work decreases the spirit of the
group work.
- The failure of the institution to practice authority and responsibility in a
correct manner leads to absenteeism from work.
- Absence is the main factor in creating a careless and irresponsible personality within the organization. |
