Citrus fruits are of vital interest to a large number of countries because of their economic
importance, and the same is true for Algeria. Grafting is an operation that aims to combine the
advantageous characteristics of two different plants into a single plant; the criteria for choosing a
citrus plant have evolved by leading to a broadening of the range of varieties and species available
to serve as a graft variety.
Our test was carried out in the El Nakhla nursery in Ain Defla, to study compatibility and
affinity by monitoring graft recovery rates of four graft varieties (Clémentine Orograndé,
Clémentine Nules, Orange Washington Navel and Eureka) grafted in spring crest on a single variety
of rootstocks (Citrus Volkameraina) in a semi-automatic multi-chapel greenhouse. The comparison
between the different varieties that allows data the following results:
-The semi-automatic multi-chapel greenhouse ensures a microclimate favorable to the plants
(temperature and humidity) for the success of grafting and the development of shoots.
-The best association in terms of recovery time to grafting and the state of development is high with
the graft association (Citrus Volkameriana) followed by oronge washington navel, clementine
nules. These results remain to be developed in the future on the behavior of these different
association on soil in production orchards. |
