dc.description.abstract The demand for solar energy is exponentially increasing, which implies an intense increase in the production of solar cells, among its manufacturing stages, the sawing stage which generates a reject which can neither be thrown nor burned. This reject may contain PEG, SiC, metal fragments and 40% of Si. To reduce the photovoltaic cost while preserving the environment, the treatment of this reject has become a necessity. For this, A rejection has been synthesized. Washing with acetone, distilled water and ethanol was used at different concentrations to dissolve PEG, solid phase from liquid phase separation was performed. Effect of stirring and the nature of the solvent was studied. Then, the powder of the solid phase was characterized by ATR-FTIR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffractometer. Finally, a treatment protocol based on the results obtained was adopted to treat the actual rejection. The results revealed the chemical instability of the PV rejection and the appearance of nanoparticles. en_US
