Diabetes mellitus is a pathology not without complications, The acute and chronic metabolic complications of which are at the basis of a very high mortality rate. The objective of the present study is to identify the renal complications of diabetes in patients of the Mostaganem region.
This study is conducted in 37 patients (sex ratio F/M, 15/22) aged 05 to 82 years with diabetes of both types at the level of the public Hospital of Ain Tadles. This work is carried out within one month (from April 11 until May 11, 2021).
A blood suger , urea and creatinine assay is performed on the plasma of various patients .
Our results show that:
Men are more affected by diabetes than woman (59, 45% vs 40, 54%)
The proportion of patients with diabetic nephropathy is 32, 43%.
The proportion of women with this complication is around 16, 21%, Which is identical to that of men
Plasmatic urea and creatinine concentrations are higher in patients over 50 years old.
