Résumé:
The Allache Sardinella aurita (Valenciennes.1847) is a pelagic species of economic importance, omnipresent on the Algerian coast and abundant on almost all the fishing areas of the coast of Mostaganem.
The objective of this research study is to highlight the reproduction parameters of 33 fish taken from the port of Salamander in the wilaya of Mostaganem spread over a period of three months from March to May 2022.
To do this, it was necessary to take the measurements of the weights and lengths respectively, and proceed to a dissection of each fish at the educational laboratory of fisheries resources at the University of Mostaganem.
The evaluation of the sex ratio showed the predominance of males at 51.51%) over females at 45.45%.
The study of the sex ratio according to size classes from 13cm to 17cm and 17cm to 21cm showed that the proportion of males increases with increasing size, while the proportion of females decreases with a slight decrease in size. sex ratio. At the same time, we noticed that there was an increase in the percentage of males with the progression of the months, while the percentage of females decreased in April and May.
Regarding the study of the gonado-somatic ratio (RGS), an increase in the activity of the gonads was observed in order to prepare the fish for reproduction. On the other hand, the hepatosomatic ratio (RHS) adopts an inversely proportional evolution compared to that of the RGS.
According to size class, it was noted the absence of females in the size range of 13cm- 17cm.
For the total length-fork length relationship, the results showed had highlighted a lowering allometry, so the total length (Lt) increases relatively less quickly than the fork length (Lf) with a correlation coefficient r close to 1 which indicates a good correlation between the two lengths.
