Contribution à une étude sur le choix de la répartition des souches de poulet de chair élevées en Algérie

Abstract

The present study is approached to focus on some broiler strain commonly raised in Algeria. three strains namely Arbor acres, Hubbard and Cobb 500 are concerned for the enhancement of their economic returns based on three technical parameters of broiler rearing (conversion index, live weight and mortality rate), through the study area which includes eight regions (Tlemcen, Sidi belabbes, Oran, Mostaganem, Mascara, Relizane, Chlef and Tiaret). -We have recorded that the Arbor acres strain is the most used almost in the whole west of Algeria followed by Hubbard and Cobb 500. - The Arbor acres strain gave acceptable rates of technical parameters throughout the study area in the spring season and especially in the Mostaganem region. - The Hubbard strain, these rates recorded are out of the norms, noting the conversion index (higher than 2.2) as well as the rates of live weight obtained are not achieved the objectives of the breeding. -The Cobb 500 strain, having acceptable rates of technical parameters, except in the region of Oran in the summer season where the conversion index exceeded 2.2, however the mortality rates recorded are high because of the sensitivity of this strain.
