The study of the phenomena which govern the removal by adsorption of
methylene blue by samples of bentonite, TV (bentonite extracted from the deposit
of M'Zila (Mostaganem)) and PF (TV treated at the level of the ENOF plant and
destined drilling), revealed that the PF sample is most effective in decolorizing
solutions containing this dye. Nevertheless, the solid TV, at low cost, can also be
used as a support for the elimination of this dye.
The study of thermal regeneration of the samples tested showed that in the area of
initial dye concentrations less than or equal to 20 mg/L (range of concentrations
generally encountered in industrial discharges), the retention capacity of
regenerated materials TV-C and PF-C appear equal to that of the starting samples
TV and PF, respectively. This suggests that the bentonite from the M'Zila deposit
could constitute an interesting support for the elimination of basic (cationic) dyes |
