Résumé:
Among the diseases associated with broad beans (Vicia faba), fusarios is particularly damaging in this year's crop. Isolation carried out on diseased bean plants showing signs of rot enabled us to identify an isolate of Fusarium oxysporum. In the present study, we set out to investigate the antifungal activity of two methanoic extracts of Salvia officinalis isolated by two different techniques, maceration and Soxhlet, on the isolated fungus.
Our results revealed that extraction methods and extract concentration had a significant effect on mycelial growth and sporulation of the fungus, with a definite efficacy of the methanoic extract by Soxhlet.
The effect of three culture media was also tested: PDA, Czapeck and FEA; on mycelial growth and sporulation of this isolate. Results showed that Fusarium oxysporum mycelial growth was best on Czapeck medium, while sporulation was favored by PDA medium.
