The objective of this study was to assess the efficacy of diets enriched with black soldier fly (BSF) larvae on the zootechnical parameters of broiler chickens. To do this, several batches of chickens were subjected to diets containing concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% BSF, while a control group was fed a standard diet. The results showed significant differences in live weight between the experimental groups and the control. In particular, the group receiving 15% BSF showed a notable increase in the full carcass weight and the weight of the carcass plus the head. Meats from diets enriched with BSF had higher protein and lipid contents. Variations in the weight and length of the intestines were noted based on BSF concentrations. The analysis of the larvae indicated an average mineral content of 7.99% ± 1.7%. |
