Résumé:
Myocardial infarction, or heart attack, is the destruction of part of the heart muscle when it is no longer supplied with sufficient oxygen.
Troponins are muscle proteins that play a role in muscle contraction, including in the heart muscle. Their determination is based on the sandwich immunoassay technique, on the Vidas Bioméreux automaton.
The aim of our study is to highlight the value of the cardiac troponin assay in the diagnosis and follow-up of patients with myocardial infarction.
In our study population there is predominance for male sex, the risk factors that accentuate myocardial infarction are age, sex, hypertension (35%), smoking (30%), obesity (20%) and diabetes (15%).
Our results are similar to the results of several studies that have confirmed that cardiac troponin I allows the identification of a cardiac lesion.
