dc.description.abstract Faces with an unequal distribution of drinking water on the planet and the effects of global warming, namely drought and lack of water. A growing demand for seawater desalination has been identified in recent years. Demographic development, the high concentration of the world's population in the same area where human activity is increasing, and technical progress that has led to a reduction in investment costs, are all factors that have contributed to this increase. Demand, Algeria has experienced, over the past twenty years, an intense and persistent drought. This drought, characterized by a significant rainfall deficit, affected the whole of Algeria and more particularly its north-western part. To this end, we have seen it useful to carry out a study on the desalination of seawater taking as a case study the seawater desalination station of Ténès. This study focuses on this desalination process by studying distillation and reverse osmosis, but also through the aspects of hygiene, safety and the environment. en_US
