dc.description.abstract |
The soils of the Mostaganem area have a sandy texture overall and are poor in organic matter,
therefore having a high permeability which induces leaching of fine elements, for this reason,
we thought of making amendments (i) organic (manure), (ii) mineral (bentonite: raw clay) and
(iii) a mixture (manure + bentonite) with appropriate doses in order to improve the physical
fertility of the soil, namely: bulk density, permeability, porosity, water retention and structural
stability, and crop yield for organic agriculture and sustainable development. To do this, we
chose the following doses: 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. Soils amended with a
mixture improved the physical parameters of the soil, and for yield, the dose of 10% bentonite
gave the best result followed by the F10% and AF20% treatments respectively in comparison
to the control. These results highlight the role of the combination of mineral and organic
amendments in stabilizing the structure and improving soil fertility, knowing that organic
amendments increase the level of organic matter and mineral amendments protect it against
the mineralizing activity of microorganisms and enrich the soil with fertilizing elements,
which leads to an increase in yield. |
