Résumé:
The current dissertation is to study the effectiveness of using digital games to improve oral
skill in students’ English academic performance . The research aims to examine the impact of digital games on oral skill among university students. It investigated the situation of L1 students and teachers at Abdelhamid Ibn Badis University during the academic year 2023-2024. In order to evaluate my theory, a triangulation has been used, an observation with L1 students from the department of French, a questionnaire addressed to EFL learners and an interview with EFL teachers. Data collected from the three tools was acquired using quantitative and qualitative methods. The observation was used to see whether the digital games affect the students’ speaking skill. The questionnaire sought students’ feedback on the implementation of digital games in the classroom and their benefits. The interview focused on the teachers’ perceptions and perspectives of using these games as a new method of teaching to increase their students’ level of speaking proficiency. In addition to this, we aimed to determine whether digital games had a significant role in inspiring students and allowing them to overcome their fears. The results demonstrated that digital games have a good impact on students’ speaking skill.They also give motivation, engagement, and linguistic enhancement, and they help teachers instruct in a funny manner if they know how to use them.
