Résumé:
Natural plant extracts contain a variety of phenolic compounds to which are assigned a variety of biological activities.
The present study examines the evaluation of the antioxidant activity of the methanolic extract of the leaves of Aloe vera (L.) Burm and Solenostemmaargel(Delile) Hayne, two medicinal plants of the traditional pharmacopoeia of Algeria.
Antioxidant activity was evaluated using diphenyl-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) tests. In a first step, the total polyphenol and flavonoid content of the extracts was carried out.
The results for the quantitative determination of total polyphenols and flavonoids by colorimetric method allowed to qualify the Aloe vera leaves as being the richest in phenolic compounds whose content (136.5 ± 0.042 mg / g) Aloe vera and Solenostemmaargelshowed the highest content of flavonoids (512.4 ± 0.066, 467.6 ± 0.119mg / g).
The method of evaluating the antioxidant activity shows that all the extracts of the plants studied exhibit antioxidant properties at differ
