This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of chemical fertilization on the growth and productivity of zucchini (Cucurbita pepo). The experiment compared two treatments: a control without fertilization (T0) and a chemically fertilized treatment (T1). Several agronomic parameters were monitored throughout the growing cycle, including plant height, number of leaves, number of male and female flowers, number and average weight of fruits, as well as the total yield per treatment.
The results showed that chemical fertilization significantly improved vegetative growth (height and number of leaves) as well as floral and fruit production, leading to a notable increase in total yield. However, the average fruit weight remained relatively constant between treatments, suggesting that the yield gain was mainly due to an increase in the number of fruits.
Descriptive analysis, correlation tests, and the Student’s t-test confirmed the existence of significant differences between treatments. This study highlights the importance of chemical fertilization in optimizing zucchini yield, while emphasizing the need for further research on different types and levels of fertilization to promote more sustainable and adapted cultivation practices. |
