Résumé:
The objective of this study is the enhancement of the Origanum vulgare plant through
an in vitro evaluation of the insecticidal activity of the aromatic extract and the essential oil of
this plant vis-à-vis the citrus aphid; adults of Aphis spiraecola.
The aromatic extract is obtained by sonication for 30 min, while the essential oil is
generated by the extraction technique by steam distillation.
The results obtained reveal that the aromatic extract of oregano obtained by
sonication gave very high mortality rates from the second day for a concentration of 80% (v /
v) with an LD50 of 26.4%. On the other hand, at the applied doses the toxicity of the essential
oil is moderately effective compared to the effect produced by the aromatic extract.
