The objective of this study is to determine the antibacterial and antifungal effects of extract of snowshoes (Opuntia ficus-indica, Opuntia megacantha) were evaluated by the Kirby-Bauer method vis-à-vis three bacterial strains "salmonella, escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus ", The results reveal the effectiveness of the cladode extract against" salmonella and escherichia coli "against no effect on the strain" Staphylococcus aureus ".
To improve this study is added the extract cladodes Opuntia ficus-indica, Opuntia megacantha with deferent concentration 1%, 2% in natural yoghurt; the results show that the Dornic acidity of natural yoghurt added with the 70-80 ° D extract as 83-90 ° D for the control. He plays the role of a retarder.
These results and the scientific advances on Opuntia, show all the interest this plant represents for arid and semi-arid regions. It can constitute a non-negligible dietary supplement (fruit + "vegetables") and can contribute to improving the income of the population.
The use of cladode juice as an alternative for the valorization of some of the components of biological, medicinal and food value can be of great interest, as we move more and more towards preparation of multifunctional foods (low calorie, no cholesterol, fiber, vitamins, antioxidant, positive effect on health, natural food additive ...). |
