dc.description.abstract This thesis compares the slave stories written by Frederick Douglass and Harriet Ann Jacobs, two stories written by themselves and showing how slavery and the environment during the rebuilding period created physical and psychological barriers to Black . personal journey of self-discovery through various relationships with others, and his personal history finally serves the great goal of his people, emancipation. Relying on Black Feminism, Critical Studies on Race and Whiteness and Theory of Trauma, Beside Narrative. The life of Frederick Douglass, which was actually aimed at undermining the criticism of his opponents and establishing and validating his identity as a former slave. en_US
