Résumé:
The study on the controlled reproduction of Tilapia du Nile (Oreochromis niloticus), carried out at the Laboratory of Animal Production Science and Technology, University of Mostaganem, in the winter and spring season from March to May 2020, aims at making known and initiate the student to a practice on the controlled reproduction of a species widely cultivated in Algeria, The tilapias are maintained in an open system of aquariums of following dimensions, (120* 60* 50) cm with a sex ratio of 03 females for a male and a temperature of 28°.
These fish are fed at 3.0% of their weight per day in two equal portions twice at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm per day.
Growth and reproduction parameters of these spawners are calculated, to show the adaptation of these spawners to an environment that is closest to their ecological requirements.
For reproduction parameters, the total number of eggs ranged from 574 to 1673 with an average of 998 eggs. The spawning interval varies from 14 to 20 days with an average of 17 days.
The results obtained are close to those reported in the literature, and indicate zootechnical performance, very promising for this population, where spawning yield depends on many factors, nutrition, density, age, spawning size, the sex ratio, the photoperiod and especially the quality of water, which the Aquaculturist must strictly respect, to free himself from the import and obtain his own fry.
