Résumé:
Water is a natural element of paramount importance, essential for all forms of life, water is a necessary resource for all human activities, it is a determining factor of production in sustainable development, it is increasingly becoming more at the center of strategic interests, it is there for necessary to have a better knowledge of the existing water resources as well as their quality.
To deal with our theme, we have divided the work in to four chapters, the first is devoted to a bibliographical research on the region we have studied (geographical location, climate, vegetation and hydrology). In the three remaining chapters, we studied the spatiotemporal variability of rainfall using statistical processing and analysis of drought indices. We have there for adopted a methodology characterized by the collection of rainfall data and the creation of a computer data base. To do this, we based ourselves on monthly data from several rainfall stations located in our study area. The coastal region of east Algeria
The calculation of the indices for the different stations reveals the existence of two distinct wet and dry periods. Note also that the further you go to the center (from east to west), the rainfall increases.
