Résumé:
The present study relates to the observation of the reproductive potentialities recorded in the
ewe of the Ouled Djellal breed, from which we help to offer a good control of the
reproductive parameters of this breed.
This contribution has to be made by a proposal for the improvement of environmental factors,
food, hygiene, animal health and production control by proposing the best periods of struggle
and lambing.
The study is carried out at the pilot farm if Mourad, Sidi Ali, Mostaganem in 2020, on a sheep
population of 432 heads including 8 rams, 178 sheep.
In the last part, an evaluation of the reproductive parameters concerning the fertility, fecundity
and prolificacy of lambs
From the data collected, after analysis of the recorded results, the constraints were raised and
that in the perspective of proposing solutions.
The parameters recorded concerned the fertility rate which is 56.66%, fertility 105.33% and
prolificacy 121.53%.
After a comparison with previous studies, it turns out that the reproduction parameters on the
studied farm are acceptable with the work already carried out.
For this, the general recommendation to follow up on this present work is to spread the study
over several farms across several regions with different farming systems in order to arrive at
specific Algerian standards that allow breeding meet the threshold of rates recommended by
zootechnicians.
