Résumé:
Wheat and chickpeas are important and strategic elements in Algeria. Storage and preservation of the quality of wheat and chickpeas are important to ensure their availability throughout the year. The present study aims to assess the damage and losses of wheat and chickpea grains caused by their main pests. As well as, the inventory of entomofauna stored including wheat and chickpeas and followed by morphological identification in the laboratory. This study, which lasted more than three months, allowed the identification of 4 orders of insects, 13 families and several genera and species dependent on stored wheat and chickpeas. The evaluation of grain damage and weight loss caused by Rhyzopertha dominica and Trogoderma granarium show great damage on wheat, followed by Callosobruche maculatus on chickpea.
