Résumé:
The journalistic chronicle, by its specific textual kind, offers the possibility to the authors to express
themselves in a very particular way, as well from a stylistic point as linguistic. In the French press in Algeria, one of
the aspects of this specificity manifests itself through the multilingualism of these statements.
In our research, we will first describe the sociolinguistic reality in Algeria to contextualize our research from a
macro-sociolinguistic point of view. Then, we give a history of the French-language press in Algeria in order to
understand well the micro-sociolinguistic context of the supports from which our corpus was extracted.
To do this, we have chosen to analyze the productions synchronically (according to themes) and diachronic of
2 Algerian chroniclers of French expression still in activity, in this case Hakim Laâlam and Kamel Daoud and, we
compared with the chronicles of fire Saïd Mekbel produced in the sixties. Through a cross-reference of data, we will
try to identify all the types of language contact used by the chroniclers and then we aim to understand the various
motivations that govern this linguistic variation.
