Résumé:
Since 2000, a new strategy has been adopted in Algeria's arboricultural sector. It aims to improve and encourage farmers to establish new orchards. The lack of mastery of arboricultural techniques and the lack of knowledge about the presence of diseases and their occurrence on fruit trees cause a significant and frequent decrease in both the quantity and quality of fruit production.
Visual inspection of trees is an important aspect of plant health. Laboratory tests are not a practical tool for day-to-day diagnosis, due to cost and turnaround time. Growers make their decisions on the basis of visible symptoms on plants, but this often leaves them in doubt as they lack knowledge of plant stress diagnosis and orchard monitoring tools.
Our work consists in developing a mobile application for precision agriculture. Using Android Studio Electric Eel | 2022.1.1 Patch2, we have created an advanced technological platform that aims to transform the way farmers manage their orchards.
The structure of the application is divided into three independent experimental parts working in complementarity. It is aimed at the agricultural world, helping farmers and even experts to learn orchard management decisions at the right time.
The first part aims to guide the user by offering monthly technical itineraries to follow, instant identification of diseases of biotic and abiotic origin, and pests. This is made possible by processed images designed with Photoshop software. The application also provides users with phytosanitary advice.
The second part is instructive, providing general knowledge on plant nutrition and pesticide handling techniques.
The third part is dedicated to the geo-informatics system based on a combination of two software packages, Android studio version 2022 and Python version 3.10. This system provides precise information on the weather and physicochemical characteristics of the soil in tree orchards.
