Abstract:
The study of the contents of the digestive tract of sea cucumbers has allowed us to know the diet of the four species, H. polished; H. sanctori; H. tubulosa; and H.forskali, and have an idea about the ability of sea cucumbers to choose their food. Individuals were considered récoltésau the site of Stidia (Mostaganem) for four months from February to May, 2016. Trophic sources are studying sea cucumbers are primarily composed of sheets of dead and living Posidonia; Diatoms, foraminifera and algae macrophytes. The contribution of these sources may change depending on the month and species. Our study allowed us to found the species H. sanctori is that consumes most of the leaves Posidonia (dead and alive) and this throughout the four months of study; while polished H. prefers to live the leaves of marine phanerogams.
