Résumé:
A morphological characterization of a local goat population was conducted in the region of Ouarizane. The objective of this study was to characterize morphologically the goat population in the region of Ouarizane, in order to have better understanding of goat genetic resources which remains little studied until now, the body measurements were performed an 261females and 64 malesdistributed over 14 municipalities in the region. This study examined 12 quantitative and 10 qualitative, the collected data were subjected to analysis of variance and a discriminant factor analysis. Our results showed that the length of the head (LH), and the height at the back (HB) , were the most discriminant variables for axis 1, the length of the ears (LE) and hips to the length of the second axis in females, and in males the length of the head (LH), and thurl width (TW)for the first function and chest circumference (CC) and the height at sacrum (HS) for the second function, the classification rate was 73,6% in females, and 81,6% in males.
