Abstract

Postpartum is the period between calving and return of the uterine and ovarian environment to a situation consistent with the maintenance of a new gestation. Our study focused on the evaluation of undergraduate postpartum performance. 34 mares were studied in terms of follicular dynamics, ovulation, uterine fluids, horn diameter and fertility. . This study shows that fertility is acceptable and it is preferable to take advantage of the foal heat in young mares under 15 years to maintain the interval foaling-foaling 12 months.
