Résumé:
This study was conducted Hamra race found in the experimental farm I.T.ELV of Ain el
Hdjar in wilaya of saida(West of Algeria), in order to characterize phenotypically.
Nine quantitative morphological characters were applied to 14 heads of sheep Hamra race in
adulthood. Showed significant values for quantitative traits both for individuals both sexes for
the studied sample.
The results showed between measured plant variables, of gender differences. Tangible
measures that were studied and the most representative for males and females are: LO, LQ,
TP, HC, HD, LDC, HG, TC, and PV.
The results confirm the already known sexual dimorphism in sheep, and also confirm the
results already obtained by other researchers.
The results also possible to compare the morphological characteristics of the sample studied
with other Sheep breed: Ouled Djellal, Rumbi and D’men.
