Résumé:
Our present work is a preliminary study aiming at studying some parameters of the biology of Scomber japonicus caught in the bay of Mostaganem, the mackerel pelagic species that frequents the Mediterranean.
Monthly samples of fish are made between April and June 2018, fresh fish were collected at the port of Mostaganem, the study of sex ratio demonstrated that it was in favor of females.
The study of the reproduction was carried out after calculating the ratio gonado-somatic "RGS" and hepatostatic "RHS", the "RGS" being high in March confirms that the gonads are mature, this observation was confirmed by the HRH that demonstrated the accumulation of nutrient reserves during this period.
The asymptomatic L length in females is 38.56 cm and is greater than that of males which is 33.51 cm.
The value of K is 0.85 (cm / year) for females, 0.69 (cm / year) for males, the value of t0 calculated is -0.37 for females and -0.49 for males.
On the other hand, the fishing statistics between 2007 and 2018 of the species harvested at the level of the fishing department of the wilaya of Mostaganem, showed an annual decrease of this activity.
