This dissertation examines the issue of mass shootings in the United States. Through a study of this phenomenon from the year 2000 onwards, much concern has been put on the widespread of this issue in several American states, the causes behind this rampant problem and the reaction of lawmakers against the problem of mass shootings. And then comparison was made about how such problem is tackled in other countries and how they manage to solve this issue. For that, two major research strategies are used; a quantitative research method which includes the deadliest mass shootings in the world and in America. The second method is a qualitative research where data have been collected from books, published reports and newspapers. This dissertation suggested that the idea of constitutional change by modifying the Second Amendment seems quite impossible, but this did not prevent the Democratic Party from trying to pass legislation to restrict gun sales in America. Whether they will succeed or not is open to many interpretations.en_US
